In the foothills of the Mourne Mountains, just outside Rostrevor, County Down, you will find Lecale Cottages, the family-run self catering accommodation, located on a peaceful 24-acre farm.

Seven Tourist Board Approved 3-star holiday cottages and two 5-star houses are built in a traditional style with magnificent views over the Mourne Mountains and down Rostrevor Valley to Carlingford Lough.

The Mourne Mountains are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making Lecale Cottages the perfect place for hill walking, horse-riding, or mountain biking. While the area of Carlingford Lough is ideal for fishing, sailing, swimming, and other watersports.

Rostrevor is reachable in an hour by car from Belfast and 90 minutes from Dublin, making Lecale cottages accessible self-catering accommodation in the Mournes. Both Dublin and Belfast have major airports and ferry terminals. Newry, a lively market town with great shopping is only 10 miles away, whilst Rostrevor village, although small, has good shops and places to eat.

Traditional style is combined with modern day comfort inside all of the self catering accommodation. With a variation in layout from cottage to cottage to give each a unique feel, a high level of interior outfit is standard. The open plan living/kitchen and dining areas have the traditional tiled floor and turf fire, combined with a well-equipped modern kitchen. All of the accommodation has oil-fired central heating.

There is plenty to do on-site, with a children's playground, tennis court, and a 1.5km riverside/farm walk. Plenty of space to get back in touch with nature!

Together with the local Rostrevor fishing club, we have built a fish hatchery, from which the local river is being restocked with salmon and trout.
