LECALE COTTAGES - SELF CATERING ACCOMMODATION IN ROSTREVOR, NORTHERN IRELAND.

Our large 5-star houses have modern luxury, from deep comfortable sofas and chairs, to extra spacious bedrooms – all of which are en-suite. With such room, they are ideal for families and groups who are looking for space to enjoy themselves on holiday.

The large living/dining areas have views out over the wild-flower garden, down through Kilbroney Valley to Carlingford Lough. One has a large open-fire, whilst the other has a Jotul wood burning stove. The kitchen areas are fitted out in light oak with Mourne granite worktops. Modern conveniences, such as a dishwasher, washer/dryer, food processor, microwave, are included. Under-floor heating runs through the hall, whilst the bedrooms have warm carpet.

Both houses have oil-fired central heating. In each house, 2 of the bedrooms have two single beds, whilst the third bedroom has a double and one single bed. Each bedroom has a remote controlled television and large, built in wardrobes.

The 5* Houses are situated slightly away from the other cottages on-site, and are nestled between the Cross River and the Yellow Water River. The 1.5km riverside/farm nature trail can be started from beside the houses. On-site, we have a children’s playground, and a tennis court. The world-famous Royal County Down Links Golf Course is only 20 minutes drive from Lecale Cottages.

3* Self Catering Cottages - 3 bedrooms. 5 cottages.

We have five 3-bedroom cottages on the Lecale Cottages premises, each awarded 3-stars by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board. The cottages differ in layout, and below you will find a description of each one. Slieve Martin, Tievedockarragh, and Cnoc Shee (all sleep 6, 1 double, 2 twins)

Our clean and cosy three bedroom cottages, sleep up to 6 people. A combined kitchen/living area, with an open log-fire, is perfect for family get-togethers, or somewhere to relax with your friends after a long day walking or mountain-biking in the Mourne Mountains.

Each cottage has one double bedroom, and two twin rooms. There is a separate bathroom, WC, and shower room, so no need to worry about queues! The cottages have all mod-cons, including washer/dryer, microwave, and a dishwasher.

The "Ceili House" (sleeps 6/7; 2 en-suite bedrooms and a loft)

The “Ceili House” has a large (20ft x 30ft) living/dining room with a Liscannor stone floor, and as the name suggests, is suitable for entertaining larger groups. A separate fully equipped kitchen is useful for those renting several cottages, but wishing to eat together.

With 2 en-suite bedrooms and a loft, this provides sleeping arrangements of 3 twin bedrooms - (we would advise that the loft would not be suitable for young children or the elderly.) One of the en-suites is a shower room, whilst the other is a shower/bathroom. There is an extra shower room and WC on the ground floor.

• Oil-fired central heating and linen are included in the price.
• A marquee is available for rent, and has been used in conjunction with the Ceili House for several weddings and gatherings held at Lecale Cottages.
• Parking outside house.
• We can provide cots and highchairs if needed.

Leckan Mor (sleeps 6; 2 doubles, 1 twin)

Large windows with views across to the Mourne Mountains and down the Rostrevor Valley are in the combined living/kitchen room of Leckan Mor, a 3-bedroom cottage. Again, this cottage has a traditional tiled floor, and open fireplace.

Leckan Mor 3-bedroom cottage, has 2 double bedrooms, and a twin bedroom. Views in the photos above are from the living/kitchen room of Leckan Mor.

The accommodation is in the form of two double bedrooms, and one twin room . There is a large shower room, with WC. The house also has a combined washer/dryer.

Roosley - (sleeps 4/5, 1 double and single, 1 single room with option of a pull out bed.)

Roosley cottage is a bright 2-storey self-catering cottage, located on the premises of Lecale Cottages, in Rostrevor, County Down. The sun shines in through the living room sliding doors in the morning, and the view from the upstairs bedroom is across to the Mourne Mountains.

This light and clean cottage with 2 bedrooms can sleep 4/5 people. The upstairs bedroom has a double and a single bed, whilst the downstairs bedroom has the option of being a twin or a single room. There is a downstairs WC, and a shower room upstairs. The combined kitchen/dining/living area has sliding doors that open on to the patio if you wish to take your breakfast outside.

Leckan Beg (sleeps 2, 1 Bedroom Cottage) and Crotlieve (sleeps 4, 2-storey 1 Bedroom Cottage)

Our cosy one-bedroom cottage, Leckan Beg, is our most popular accommodation. Perfect for couples wanting to escape for either a weekend, or a longer 2 week-stay, it is a great base for exploring the Mourne Mountains. Looking out the main window of Leckan Beg, you will have a view down the valley to Carlingford Lough.

For those that require a bit more room, Crotlieve is a 2-storey cottage, with a large family-bedroom upstairs. With 1 double bed and 2 singles, it comfortably sleeps a family with 2 children.

Both cottages have a combined kitchen/living/dining area. Leckan Beg has a bathroom, whilst Crotlieve has a shower room.

• Oil-fired central heating is in both cottages, and along with linen, is included in the price.
• Leckan Beg has the addition of an open-fire.
